Relation of Steatosis to Neurocognitive Function in People Living with HIV.
CONCLUSION: Although the sample size was relatively small our results show consistent correlations between the observed neurocognitive variables and metabolic parameters. As central obesity is one of the contributors to NCI it would be one of the modifiable factors to prevent further neurocognitive decline. PMID: 32106801 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Cardiovascular risk prediction equations underestimate risk in people living with HIV: Comparison and cut-point redefinition for 19 cardiovascular risk equations
CONCLUSION: All cardiovascular risk equations underestimate the true risk in HIV subjects. The cut-points for high cardiovascular risk were found to vary greatly from recommended in clinical guidelines.PMID:35081893 | DOI:10.2174/1570162X20666220126124149

Detection of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease with non-invasive tools in Turkish people living with HIV and with apparently normal liver function
CONCLUSION: We demonstrated that even a significant proportion of PLWH individuals with normal transaminase levels have fatty liver. Future prospective trials are warranted to understand and mitigate the risk factors, course of NAFLD, and accurate non-invasive tests, predicting fibrosis in people living with HIV.PMID:37455457 | DOI:10.2174/1570162X21666230714122716

HIV Infection Is Associated With Progression of Subclinical Carotid Atherosclerosis
Conclusions. HIV infection is associated with greater increases in focal plaque among women and men, potentially mediated by factors associated with immunodeficiency or HIV replication at levels below current limits of detection.

Cardiac Function in Vertically HIV-infected Children and Adolescents in the Era of Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy
Conclusions: In a context of highly effective antiretroviral treatment, no differences were found regarding cardiac abnormalities using conventional and advanced ultrasound imaging techniques in this cohort of vertically HIV-infected children and adolescents, when compared with healthy controls.
